The engine package on both machines incorporates an SRF America heavy-duty frame-mounted radiator and Donaldson dual-element air cleaner. A cyclonic precleaner is also available as an option, the company said.The engine drives a Bosch Rexroth AA10VG hydraulic pump that power the hydrostatic drive. Bosch Rexroth gear pumps are used to power the lift and auxiliary systems. The hydrostatic drive pump incorporates an ant-stall system designed to prevent engine stalling because of overload. "The anti-stall feature reduces drive pump output when engine output cannot meet the demand," Pohl explained. "This prevents the engine from bogging down and stalling. Because the feature is fully automatic, it allows the operator to concentrate fully on driving the machine in rough terrain." "Material handling and threshing performance on all STS combines has been enhanced because of a new, wider right-hand radius profile on the concave," Moron says. "The increased right-hand threshing width promotes faster, smoother crop flow with more complete threshing. The wider concave radius also helps to reduce overall power consumption in high-volume, tough material handling crop conditions."Adding to the productivity of the 9760 STS and the 9860 STS is a new high capacity unloading system. Delivering a 150 percent increase in the unloading rate versus previous models, the high-capacity system unloads at 3.3 bushels per second, the dewalt fastest unloading rate of any combine produced today. The high-capacity unloading system is standard equipment on the 9860 STS and optional on the 9760 STS.
